Deepti Awarded DFI Fellowship
Deepti Sharan was the recipient of the Duchossois Family Institute Fellowship. Deepti’s research focuses on identifying essential colonization factors for anti-inflammatory Clostridial members of the gut microbiota.
Support from the Brinson Foundation
The lab received support from the Brinson Medical Research Fellowship program for research on the role of the gut microbiome in metabolic disease.
2021 Lab Additions
2021 saw more growth to the Light Lab with the addition of postdoc Deepti Sharan, Micro student Matt Schechter, and visiting student Aga Grelska.
Support from the Searle Scholar program
The lab received support from the Searle Scholar program for research on microbial metabolic interactions within the gut microbiota.
New lab members
The Light Lab grew in August 2020 with the addition of Research Tech Isaac Younker,
postdoc Alex Little, and Shuo Huang, a graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics.
